A Kanagawa man is currently wanted on suspicion of a hit and run and posters featuring his likeness have been issued by police. However, rather than your typical artist’s rendition of the villain, he has instead been represented by one of Nintendo’s Mii characters.

Quite why police are using a Mii instead of the typical drawing, I don’t know. However, the only plausible explanation is that the suspect was, indeed, a real-life Mii. So, if you spot any suspicious looking Miis in or around the Kanagawa area, be sure to let local authorities know.”

How many times have you redrawn a dropdown box or browser chrome in Fireworks or Photoshop? I’m too stubborn / lazy / unorganized to search for those bits in old projects (if i was smart, which i am not, i would create my own web interface palette). I was transfixed by these animations. I found it interesting all the different ways the characters transition, and how differently each report is shown. This seems to come from a time when there was time to fill on the air vs. now where everything is templated and reusable.
