I was talking to Davers about homebrew and had to share this gem:
Pocket Physics for the Nintendo DS

(this guy also wrote the awesome NitroTracker DS).

Originally i became aware of this concept from the MIT Whiteboard Physics demo. So how badass is it to have it in your pocket for some hyper-creative Line Rider-esque (although Line Rider is coming to the DS soon) sketching? Very!

Further reading surfaced an accelerometer card for the DS which is made just for apps like Pocket Physics.

Very cool visualization–via boing boing. maybe someone less lazy will screenshot it… haha.

The Ebb and Flow of Movies: Box Office Receipts 1986 - 2007 - The New York Times

Update: the screenshot I have selected, shows the movies Patch Adams and Big Daddy as the highest peaks visible. Also of note is that the movies the Matrix, Star Wars Eps I, Notting Hill, Austin Powers and Runaway Bride are also in the shot, but still don’t beat out the other two. Should you ever be debating the IQ of the US with your friends, this should be exhibit A. -jef
