A finely executed 2D version of Portal in Flash. This is further proof that a game puzzle concept, if it is good, can be equally fun regardless of presentation. The art is really well done and the music is good too.

Japanese Casual Game Lovin
April 7, 2008 by robertRan across a couple interesting games while putting together a deck on casual gaming. The first is You Are Lucky:
it’s all in Japanese, but surprisingly easy to follow.
Also, Makibishi Comic ,
which is similar to Samorost in it’s visual point and click style.

Oh Samorost!
March 4, 2008 by danI wasted 2 days a while back playing samorost and samorost 2… so much fun, and so amazing for entirely flash games. I’m really glad to see the folks that did it are cranking out more work.

iPaper. Just like FlashPaper … but … uh … just like it?
February 19, 2008 by jefHow iPaper is different / better than FlashPaper i don’t know but as long as there isn’t any transcoding needed i think it is a fine idea. However, no matter how you cut it (get it? cut it? paper?), PDFs and Word docs don’t jive with what makes the web great. They tend to be window within a window shoehorned hack-jobs which bog the browser down. If you still feel like your document is that important, copy it into a text only web page or make a big Jpeg. Scribd site. Update: found out some differences. (more…)

Tower Defense Pwns Me
by daveOk for my first post i just gotta get something offa my chest. I tend to get verbose online anyway but i do love the hit and run posts here so i’ll try to maintain that spirit in the future.
So…there’s a game mechanic loosely called “tower defense” going around and gaining pandemic proportions with dozens of indie game studios releasing their own versions. I first discovered this while doing research for LeggoMyEggo.com and i’ve been secretly addicted to many. The thing is they are quite fugly and crude implementations. Most of them are made by one person and pimped on those equally horrid flash game portals. This is what i know so far:
