i never really understood this whole phenom… but just last week, my brother took my 9 yr.-old nephew to a cubs game… later, i asked him who won and how he liked the game.

all he could talk about was how the other team was “owned”. he didn’t just say it once, he used it over and over again repeatedly for about a half hour while describing the game. THEN went on to use it to describe some of the fight scenes in the transformer movie.

wtf??? this kid never leaves the house except to go to school or to go buy/rent video games. where the heck is he picking that up.

next time he uses it i’m gonna ask him how to spell it, what it means and where it came from.

am i getting old?

  2. yeah, but he only plays console games or DS and doesn’t even play online!!! i’d understand it if he was online , but no.

BTW i was online with my sister and she took me to the jonas brothers site since she was looking for something for her daughter and this mess came up… http://www.jonasbrothersmerch.com/images/apparel/poned_ring.jpg

  3. Why did they have to make the ring look like it was for sissies? It is cool otherwise. They should have reversed it so when you clock someone in the forehead, it leaves an impression that reads right.

And coye, i would say either the internet or online multiplayer. I know you said he doesn’t do that stuff, but it isn’t that mainstream.

All kids need is to hear something from one “cool” adult and they latch on to it like crazy people.
